Meccano Magic at Abbey Pumping Station

The magic of Meccano at Abbey Pumping Station, for all ages, old and young alike.

The train whizzes by. It wasn't going that fast, I think the new camera is lying.

Coming into the station.

The museum is very good at changing their exhibits to match the event. They must have a massive archive.

Some exhibitors own builds.

See, suitable for big kids as well.

Autumn

I've been absent from blog land for a few weeks. No reason at all.

Some pictures which mean it must be autumn.

I've tried my best with these Cyclamen. I've planted them in JI No 3 compost with lots of added vermiculite and grit. Then top dressed with grit.

This was from Scarecrow Day at Abbey Pumping Station.

These are our pumpkins, They are called Baby Bears. They are small and are meant to be. I hope they keep well, we have rather a lot.

The start of Sausage and Pumpkin Casserole.

Lots of Green Toms. We have decided to put them on the windowsill to turn red. They are coming along nicely.

A Day by the Sea

This isn't really by the sea, its a day at Abbey Pumping Station - Seaside Special.

Along side this event Leicester Heritage Bus Running Day takes place as well.

You could go for a ride around the City on these buses.

All the fun of the fair.

The weather was kind and a good day was had by all.

Hobbies and Pass Times at Abbey Pumping Station

We've been to Abbey Pumping Station lots of times. This event was a new one this year.

This is a scale model of the inside. You can walk around the top floor.

If you look at the pillars in the centre of the photo, these are them in really life.

Do you see what I mean?

Some of the stalls and exhibits.

A bit of fun.

Rather topical at the moment. They announced the time which was 12 hours after she sank and played music as she went down.

Isn't this one great, all knitted.

Maroon to Cream Leicester City Bus running day

We look forward to this each year. Its a bus running day which is held at Abbey Pumping Station along with their seaside day.

The Pumping Station hold a seaside day where they have donkey rides, a sandpit and paddling pool, ice cream and candy floss, and for some reason a smash the plates stall.

The buses did a circular tour of the city which was great.

You can see the deck chairs in the background here.

Confidence is a local private bus company, this is their Route Master bus in their own livery. Its usually used for wedding transport now, spot the horse shoe on the front.
